Summer Camp Directories When the days get longer and the temperatures rise, children's hearts naturally turn to things like kayaking, camping, soccer, swimming, and other fun activities. For kids, there's nothing like spending some time away from home exploring their interests with others who share their feelings. That's why I've been checking through various summer camp directories in order to find the perfect place for my children to pursue their passions when school is out. Shopping for the perfect retreat for my kids was super easy when I looked at summer camp directories online. I quickly found that the traditional offerings of old are still abundant, but today's camps tend to be a lot more specialized to cater to specific interests and activities. By completing my research online, I was able to get all the information I needed about camps around the country, which in turn helped me make the best choices for my kids. From what I've seen, sports camps are still the most popular by far. It used to be that we were limited to the basic choices like soccer, baseball, and basketball, but now I can find BMX/cycling, ATV/motocross racing, cheerleading, paintballing, and even rock climbing. If there's a sport being played out there, I can find it listed in the summer camp directories. This allows my kids to truly hone their skills in a particular sport and gives them their fill of their favorite activities. It's not all about the rugged and the athletic, however. My daughter is a budding artist, and I was able to find plenty of choices in the summer camp directories for art of all types. These selections included performance art like theatre, music, and dance, as well as fine arts like photography and painting. The hardest part for my daughter was choosing a single retreat out of the many fabulous options! My youngest son is the academic overachiever of the family, so a technology or academic getaway was the best idea for him. I was delighted to find a whole host of places in the summer camp directories that cater specifically to his love of computers and robotics. He could spend his days tinkering away on a variety of gadgets, and his nights -- tinkering away on a variety of gadgets. I'm actually a little worried that we won't be able to convince him to come back home! Summer camp directories made my seasonal planning much easier by giving me all of the important information that I needed in order to choose the right getaways for my kids. I was also able to read customer testimonials about many of the camps, which made me feel a lot more comfortable about sending my loved ones off on their own for a few weeks.
